Satellite TV to fit any budget
| Before selecting a Satellite TV System, you may want some general information
about Digital Satellite Systems (DSS). If so, read on. If not, click below
to go directly to Budget Satellite Systems home page.
DSS stands for "Digital Satellite System" and refers to the satellite TV dish, LNB, receiver and remote control used to receive digital satellite programming on your television. Programming services are offered by Dish Network. The DSS satellite TV system uses a satellite dish which is simple to mount on an outside wall or roof. The receiver is about the size of a small VCR and is located near your TV. A single cable connects the outdoor satellite antenna to the receiver inside. Additional cables connect the receiver to your TV input, your VCR, surround sound system, etc. The final connection is a telephone cable from the satellite receiver to a phone outlet. Although the phone connection is not necessary, it is required for multi-receiver installations and to receive Pay-per-view programs. You will never notice any interference with your telephone usage. The satellite TV system only uses the phone line to send electronic data about your pay-per-view billing info to a toll-free number. The DSS system cannot listen in to your phone calls and doesn't receive incoming calls. Installation is not very difficult. The systems come with instructions, but, to make it even easier, we also sell a complete installation kit. We have found that most of our customers don't have any trouble installing their Satellite TV systems. You can take your satellite TV system with you when you travel in your motorhome, fifth-wheel or trailer. Or take it with you to a summer vacation home. Once you've set your system up once, all you need is a zip code and a few minutes to be watching satellite TV anywhere in the continental US! If you don't want to have to set up the dish, check the PVR systems which allow you to record programs and play them back anytime, anywhere, without setting up the dish. All satellite dishes must have a clear view of the satellite, with no trees or buildings in the way. Even with a lot of trees, there's usually a spot somewhere, but we want you to know for certain. Where you aim the dish depends on your location. Before you order any system, email us your zip code and we'll tell you exactly where you will have to aim the dish. Click here to email zipcode and state where satellite dish will be located. All digital satellite TV dish systems are designed to be simple to use and are controlled by a single remote control. There are on-screen TV guides and help menus. Some are easier than others. Please go to our site to read about the features of the different models. If you will want to be able to connect to more than one TV and have the ability to watch different programs, a second receiver is required, but the same model is not a requirement. Programming - You can still receive local channels with your traditional antenna. In many areas, networks can be obtained from Dish Network and received via your satellite receiver. Budget Satellite sets you up with an account at Dish Network, so a simple phone call to a 1-800 number is all you need to do to activate your DSS Satellite TV programming. Due to their reliability, we have chosen to offer Dish Network systems exclusively. Dish Network offers many different programming packages, including foreign channels, that might interest you.
